Hello everyone!
On the way to Misawa, Japan, we saw Mt. Fugi from the window. How cool is that? It has been an interesting experience as they all have been! First of all, when we left Korea on Saturday, we found we had to pay an airport tax to board the plane! Never heard of such! Anyway, our flights went well until we got to Misawa. Our host had been misinformed about our arrival, thinking we would arrive on Sunday. Oops, nope, it was Saturday. Well, there we were pretty much stranded in the Misawa Airport. Thankfully, a guy that we met on the plane had a ride waiting for him, so we hitched a ride to camp with them. It took two trips! Fortunately, the guy was very cool with it!
The city of Misawa is more like a village and it is very nice. We went to the beach here--the sand was black! Very different! The beach was the sight of the first TransPacific flight, so there was a plane there that we took pictures by. I found a whole sand dollar in the water and we had so much fun splashing around.
That night there was a festival downtown that we attended. We stunted throughout the streets and boy did we cause a stir. Everyone was really nice and interested in our stunt demo, probably thinking, "Who are these strange people?" We were on the local Japanese news, we think. At least we stunted in front of the camera. Yesterday, a camera person came out to videotape part of our camp. I was interviewed and I hope I didn't look too stupid! Oh yes, The other night we watched the Japanese version of Who Wants to be a Millionaire? It was a hoot! The host was the Asian version of Regis. Being a little crazy, we took pictures of the TV. The show was all in Japanese except they said, "Final Answer" in English.
This Wednesday is our last day in Misawa, and it will be hard to leave.
Love you all and miss you!
